Do any sayings come to mind - I'm looking to reflect lasting love, a commitment and bond?
any thoughts or suggestions on where to find such sayings/proverbs would be appreciated ahead of our marriage. In particular, Southern African sayings (where we are from) but from anywhere in Africa would be great.
Thanks,
Sam

Hey Sam,

Try using the search feature on the afriprov.org home page. Put in the keywords "love", "committment" and see what the search engine returns. You may find something of use.

Hope this helps. Best wishes for happy, healthy & prosperous marriage.

How about these in Swahili/English:

"Yataka moyo."/"[Marriage] needs patience."

"Uzuri wa mke ni tabia si sura."/"The beauty of a wife is her character not her appearance.”

“Upendo huhitaji imani na wema.” /“Love needs faith and kindness.”

“Tukae tuishi wazuri haweshi.”/“A couple should live in harmony as beauties are born every day.”

"Mimi ni wako."/"I am yours."
