The African Proverbs, Sayings and Stories website team is proud to announce it’s newest feature: “The African Stories Database.”
For a long time we have wanted to dedicate a specific section of our website to an extensive collection of “African Stories.” We have created the African Stories Database to provide searchable, user-friendly access to our collection of over 1,000 stories (of which 75 are presently in the database) including folk tales, historical fiction pieces, myths, parables, poems, prayers, riddles, song-proverbs and true stories. The stories incorporated in the database contain a variety of over 140 different themes and sub-themes. We hope this feature will enable story-seekers to find African Stories for many different interests and occasions.
We kindly ask for you to acknowledge the source of the stories when/if you choose to use them. Also, if you use a story we would appreciate you letting the Moderator (Moderator@afriprov.org) know so we can share this news with others.
(To locate the African Stories Database go to our main page. On the left-hand side, under “Resources,” please find the newly added category “African Stories Database” or click on the following link http://www.afriprov.org/story/searchstory.htm.)
Enjoy!
