:( My daughter works with a fine gentleman from Kenya here in USA. His father just passed away and he will not be able to go back home for the funeral.
My daughter wanted to give him something in Swahili to let him know she was sad for him and wanted it to be just for his eyes, in his language.
Since we are unsure what would be appropriate, I found your site in hopes of getting some sort of answer. We do have a Christian poem, but no translation service and not sure of his religious beliefs. He keeps to himself most of the time, but my daughter sees in him and good heart.
Any help you could provide would be appreciated.
Thankyou!

How thoughtful of you and your daughter to go to the trouble of expressing your condolences in his native language. I'll see if I can't find someone to help you. Stay tuned!

In Swahili there is a very common expression: "pole sana" that means "my deep sympathy." It is very appropraite to use when someone dies.
