Hi everybody

I'm researching an African proverb. The only thing I have is the Dutch translation and if I translate it into English it sounds like this:
"The hand of the receiver is always lower than the hand of the donator"
This is a litterary translation so it could be something completely different in English.
I would be very happy if anybody could tell me where the proverb comes from.

Thank you all.

I believe it
be a Ghanaian Proverb.
Specifically from Accra. I say so because the dutch had quite dealings with thte Gas and Zimmerman is reported to have collected a lot of proverbs from them. try this lead you may be fortunate in your quest.
